The critical stakeholders in Ogwuaga Abba autonomous community in Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo state have opened up on why the supported Chief Okezie Akwiwu to win the ezeship contest between him and his elder brother Chief Obinna Akwiwu.
Speaking to some select journalists in Owerri, the Imo state capital penultimate weekend, Chief Emmanuel Chukwuma and Engr. Francis Onuoha said that the new Eze elect, Okezie Akwiwu is the best thing that has happened to the community.
The duo added that the emergence of Chief Okezie Akwiwu as the new Eze elect of the community will herald a new beginning for the community.
They said that the community was right to have voted massively for Chief Okezie Akwiwu, saying his elder brother chief Obinna Akwiwu was just being unnecessary wicked against his blood brother.
They further disclosed that the community had earlier told Chief Obinna Akwiwu to lead them as the Eze of the community which he turned down on health ground.
According to them, “they wondered why a man who openly rejected the opportunity to Lead his community will come back to lay claims for the same position”.
They said that the new Eze elect of Ogwuaga Abba autonomous community has the mandate of the good people of the community.
They used the opportunity to counsel Chief Obinna Akwiwu to forget about his ambition of becoming the traditional ruler of the community, saying that it’s Chief Okezie Akwiwu or nobody.
The stakeholders added that Chief Okezie Akwiwu has all the attributes of the kind of traditional ruler the people of the community needs at this critical time of their existence and appealed to Chief Obinna Akwiwu to support his younger brother to succeed in his newest assignment.
