One of the illustrious Sons of Umuna Autonomous Community in Orlu Local Government, Mazi Ifeanyi Asikogu, (Esere Umuna) has unveiled reasons behind his interest to run for the office of President General of Umuna Clan.
In a press release signed by Esere himself and made available to Lead, Asikogu, a PDP chieftain in Imo and Orlu, in particular, revealed that with the geographical position of Umuna in Orlu as well as the constant struggle over boundaries between Umuna and other neighboring communities, that it becomes pertinent for a person who understands both the politics in Orlu as well as one with the capacity of reaching out to the people to mount the saddle of the Clan’s presidency.
Esere Umuna, a business mogul who based in Delta while describing self as a Success in every endeavor adduced that he is vying for the said seat to help the leadership of the two autonomous communities that make up Umuna and Uzoubi Umuna in ensuring that the communities remain and sustain those legacies which made them number one and unique in Orlu Local Government.
Esere however pointed out that under his watch, if elected, Umuna clan would heave a sigh of relief adding that progress which to a reasonable extent has eluded the community would not only be seen but would also be felt by Umuna people at home and diaspora.
Asikogu who hails from Umuokwara Ikuku Umuna, however, appealed with the people to avail him of their votes on Saturday 29th being a day set out for the election assuring that vote for him is vote for the progress and unity in Umuna and Uzoubi Umuna.
