The immediate former State Chairman of the PDP in Imo, Charles Ezekwem has informed the Imo State Chapter of the APC amongst others that their entrance to APC is not to displace any person or to tamper with the already existing structure of the party rather have as partners in progress.
This is even as he described the governor of Imo State Senator Hope Uzodinma as the right person to govern the state, Ezekwem disclosed this yesterday at the APC State Secretariat along Okigwe Road at the event marketing his official entrance to the party amongst others.
Speaking at the event, Ezekwem noted that their entrance to the party is to support the party members as well as the governor to enable him restore the eroded glory of Imo State in the area of good governance.
Describing Uzodinma as a grass-root politician and a party man, Ezekwem who recounted his positions as PDP man ranging from elected Local Government Chairman to sole Administrator amongst others said that it required a man like the Governor for him to dump the PDP.
Ezekwem while commending the governor for appointing in his cabinet those who worked and followed him under the rain and the sun accused the Government of Ihedioha of causing the mass Exodus from the PDP to APC.
Charles Ezekwem had in February 2020 dumped the PDP for Imo APC, an act which many described as a betrayal to his principal, Ihedioha who was just removed from the seat of Governor by the Supreme Court.
Speaking with the Press on his reasons for dumping the APC, Ezekwem maintained that he would not be a member of a political party as a state chairman and would not know what was happening.
According to Ezekwm, Ihedioha’s sidelined him from his government and that amongst others led to his exit.
