Uratta Road turns death trap as motorists seek Governmentt Intervention

Motorists and Residents of Toronto- Uratta- Umuori Road in Owerri-North L.G.A have decried the deplorable state of the route which leads to the Council Headquarters.

This is even as they called on the State Government to urgently intervene, noting that it has become a danger zone for motorists who ply the road on daily basis. 

Investigation carried out by Lead Express revealed that from Abikoro bustop towards ABC Transport Company, motorists on daily basis excape death due to the danger associated with he said road, as residents confirmed was as   result of the abandonment of the road by contractors. 

In an interveiw, motorists/ Residents lamented bitterly over the sorry state of MCC Uratta Road, disclosing that even the areas that have been worked on are still not motorable. 

“Drivers are really suffering here, no good roads even the areas that have been worked on are also not accessible. The situation becomes worst when it rains; we find it difficult to access the spots that are motorable.

We are just surviving in God’s mercy because the road is a death trap. We also need proper drainage system as erosion is gradually eating up the road”.

They however called on Governor Hope Uzodinma  to ensure that the contractor in seach  returns back to work with immediate effect to reduce this menace faced by Motorists and  Residents.
