Tension in affected homes as the Association of Imo Masters Bakers and Caterers (AMCN) sacked 15,306 workers in the state over hike on the cost of production materials.
Addressing newsmen, the Chairman of the group, Osmond Nkeoma revealed that the retrenchment of the workers became pertinent following the continued increase on the prices of the materials for production adding that same Association has shot down 102 factories in the state.
He further pointed out that despite the increase on the prices of the materials for production, two major producers of the floor have suspended production.
The Chairman while pleading with the State Government to provide them with bailout fund like their counterparts in other states revealed that such would help them bounce back to business.
