Unusual calmness has not ceased in Umuna and Uzoubi Umuna following the death late chief Ro Ugwuegbu, Ebekuo Dike of Umuna as well as his subsequent committal to the mother earth today, Friday, october 16, 2020.
Information from the bereaved family to Lead Newspapers revealed that the body would leave St Damians Hospital Okporo in Orlu Local Government for his village, Umunnoka in Umuokwara Ikuku where he will be laid to rest after requiem mass at St Joseph’s catholic Church Umuna.
Speaking to Lead Newspapers, one of the deceased Sons, Barr Tobechi Stanley Ugwuegbu regretted the death of the Dad at the time Umuna Community and his immediate family need him most but consoled self with the belief and understanding that his late Dad lived an upright life worthy of emulation.
Barr Ugwuegbu,the principal partner at Ebekuo Dike chambers, Owerri Orlu Road however appealed with God to grant his soul eternal rest while assuring him of peace which he had always emphasised on while alive would remain in the family.
Traditional Ruler of Umuna Autonomous Community, HRH, Eze Dr, Douglas Okwara while acknowledging the numerous roles and contributions of the deceased in Umuna charged the family to not to cry like those without faith adding that God who took him away at the point when his wealth of wisdom is needed in the community would find him a place in his bossom.
Describing the deceased as a man of his words, one of the cabinet Chiefs in Umuna, Humphery Anaele, enjoined the family to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude while praying to God to grant his soul eternal rest
