MINISTRATION OF BENEVOLENCE
TEXT: 1JOHN 3:16-18
“Hereby perceive we the love of God, because He laid down His life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren—“. 1Jn 3:16-18.
The aftermath of the fall of man in the garden of Aden resulted in the devastation of the human society with sin, which also amounted to gross wickedness in the earth. So that all mankind became sinners and fell short of the glory of God. Rom 3:23. In fact all of humanity became Ichabod, as the glory departed.
At the passage of time, men continued to live in sin, the transgression of God’s law, and swayed to the evil machinations of Satan, and were engulfed with wickedness, as it is prevalent in the world today.
And God saw the evils that persist, even to the present time, and it grieved His heart.
“And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
And it repented the Lord that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at His heart”. Gen 5:6.
Then came the flood, the great deluge, when the just judgment of God came with a flood that destroyed the then evil world system and saved only Noah and his household. Nevertheless, God yet displayed His ordered benevolence for man, which He formerly bestowed on Adam and Eve, before the fall, and remarkably passed same to Noah and his family.
Benevolently, Yahweh created a new race of mankind from the households of Noah, by which the present mass of the human population descended. And namely, Shem, Ham, and Japhet. And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them,
“And you, be fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein”. Gen 9:7.
The descendants of Shem, the firstborn son, is presently traced to the Asians; such as the Chinese, Japanese, Indians, etc, while Ham is traced to the Africans, and Japhet, the Europeans.
INHERENT SIN NATURE
Despite the lofty blessings bestowed on mankind, yet the contamination from the original sin in Aden, still persists, and disastrously infiltrated the habitation of men, and influenced them to do all sorts of evil in the earth and be held captive by it.
“Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?”. Rom 6:16.
Consequently, ancient kingdoms of remote antiquity namely, Babel, Sodom, and Gomorrah, to historical empires like Egypt, Babylon, Persia, Greece, Rome, and Abyssinia in Africa, were all infested and influenced by the sin nature. Thus the chequered history of inhuman atrocities against fellow men, and transgression of the law of God, gave rise to several atrocities by those kingdoms. To date, human society is bedeviled with evils of sin. Thus the evils of the wickedness of the present world system have been a reminder of the days of Noah prior to the flood. That’s why Jesus Yeshua said, as the judgment of those days were, so shall the judgment of the present world be, as He returns to judge the world.
“But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be”. Matt 24:37.
Christ’s crucifixion set the pace in the exercise of God’s benevolence for sin infested humanity. The opportunity for man to be reconciled with God was manifested on Calvary Cross. Thus, the benevolence of Almighty God, by His love for humanity, in giving His only begotten Son as the sacrifice for sin, is the eternal witness for all ages; past, present and future.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. Jn 3:16.
Of course, the crucifixion is the greatest act of benevolence for all time, by a loving God, to redeem mankind from the bondage of Satan, sin, and sickness.
“Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed—” 1Pet 2:24-25.
THE PASSION OF CHRIST
The passion of Christ is indeed His benevolence for the entire humanity. His suffering and death is the propitiation for the deliverance and salvation of lost humanity from the shackles of the Devil. It is the greatest benevolence for all time, from a loving and kind benevolent God. Whereupon, He has also committed unto us the ministry of reconciliation and thereby reconciling the world to Himself.
“And all things are of God, who hath reconcile us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation”. 2Cor 5:18.
Let the passion of Christ, ginger, and prompt us to love one another. Believers can make a difference from the sin infested world, and Impact it with the Ministration of Benevolence, which God has committed unto us.
Through a sincere and ardent commitment to the work of Ministry; the ever-present Holy Ghost would enable us with the auction to bring about radical changes.
