Shut-Down: KANAYO EXTENDS HOPE TO LESS PRIVILEGED

….Donates Palliatives To Physically Challenged, Journalists In Owerri West

In the bid to cushion the effects of shut-down of major markets in Imo, amongst others occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic, the member representing Owerri West in Imo State House of Assembly, Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi has over the weekend extended palliatives to the physically challenged persons in Owerri West as well as media practitioners in Owerri West.

Kanayo who is also chairman House Committee on Land in Imo State House of Assembly was engaged in the distribution of relief materials to various churches in Owerri West last months, a gesture which warranted the coming together of priests of various churches to present God all his future endeavors both in politics and outside politics.

Hon. Onyemaechi who within thirteen months in the office ensured that 7.6 kilometers of roads, he attracted through his friend for Owerri West and North were completed has vowed to always come to the aide of his constituents while this hydra-headed disease lasts.

The member representing Owerri -west in Imo state house of assembly and the chairman house committee on lands and survey,  Hon Chief Kanayo Onyemaechi (Egbe) today continued his donation of palliative items, this time, to the physically challenged persons in Owerri -west LGA.

The epoch-making event which was held at the NUJ press center,  port Harcourt road, Owerri witnessed a large number of persons with disabilities present.

Recall that the lawmaker had already rounded up the sharing of his palliative items to Ochie bloc(Umuokpor, Emeabiam,  Okolochi, Eziobodo, Eziokele, Ihiagwa, Dindi,  Nekede) and Arah bloc(Umuguma, Okuku, Obinze, Umuanunu, Oforola, Olaukwu, Avu)to complete the remaining bloc of Umunwoha (Irete, Orogwe, Amakohia -Ubi, Ohii , Ndegwu) by next week.

Delivering his relief items,  “Egbe ” as fondly called maintained that the decision to extend his kind gestures to the physically challenged persons in Owerri -west was to ensure they were not left out in the scheme of things as he is an ardent believer of the fact that what is good for the geese is also good for the gander.

  He used the medium to advise them on the need to always call on him whenever his assistance is needed reassuring never to disappoint them.

  The vibrant lawmaker finally thanked them all for their presence and promise to always carry them along.

The interim chairman of the persons with disabilities in Owerri -west, Mr. Augustine Okorie thanked Hon Onyemaechi for his magnanimity and show of love while reiterating their resolve to always support him in his endeavors. He described him as the very first house member of Owerri -west that ever recognized persons with disabilities and prayed to God to grant him his heart desires.

Some of the persons with disabilities that spoke maintained that what they seek is empathy and not sympathy. They further pleaded with the lawmaker to use his good office and help them secure employment at the state level as well as support them in their resolve to elect credible officers through free and fair elections.

 In a related development, Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi (Egbe) also donated relief items to journalists of Owerri -west extraction. He further used the opportunity to applaud media practitioners for their efforts and dedication at this period of coronavirus pandemic to ensure that the people are well informed. The lawmaker reassured of his commitment toward rendering effective representation to the good people of Owerri -west and called on them to work in synergy to move the LGA to an enviable height.

Chief Fidel Onyeneke in his words lauded the lawmaker for his strong and qualitative representation. The former NUJ chairman and veteran journalist described Hon Onyemaechi’s defection to APC as best for the interest of Owerri -west and promised to always support and advice him.

Hon. Emeka Nkwoada and Rev Innocent Osuoha in their separate voices thanked the lawmaker for giving the journalist of Owerri -west a sense of belonging by this singular act and prayed God to bless him immensely.

Palliative items donated by Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi to the physically challenged persons and Journalists of Owerri -west include bags of rice, bags of beans, and sizable sum money.
