The Special Adviser to the state Governor, His Excellency Sen. Hope Uzodinma, on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Mrs. Rubby Emele has charged the Interim Management Committee Chairmen from the twenty-seven Local Government Areas of the state on the need for continuous sensitization of the people on preventive and safety measures against coronavirus. She gave the charge during a meeting she held recently with them in her office.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the meeting, she said that, the chairmen normally have meetings with their parent ministry, adding that, she told them that coronavirus is real and the need for them to continue to sensitize their people on preventive measures and ensure that, they continue to observe those measures, avoid crowd, social distancing, regular hand wash with soap and running water for twenty minutes and regular use of hand sanitizer, and contain their traveling and stay at home.
While speaking on the shut down of markets, she said that the markets that are closed are the big ones that attract large crowds, but the local markets( the Ogumabiri) and supermarkets, and some food markets where they sell perishable goods, are allowed to open, adding that avoiding large crowd is for the best interest of the people.
She calls on all to pray and support this administration, because according to her the state Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, means well for the state and that is why he is making every effort to ensure that, the state is protected from the deadly Global pandemics, COVID-19, so that, it won’t spread across the state, adding that, Governor Uzodinma has a whole lot of good plans for the state, to develop the state from the city to hinterlands.
Hon. Emele, stressed the need for the people to obey both the state and federal Government order against coronavirus, to enable stay alive to witness the massive developments in the state, according to her, the Governor is planning on the ways to create jobs for the unemployed youths, and also making great efforts to ensure that lives and properties are protected in the state, she, therefore, advised them to continue to pray and support thee state and also observe safety measures, so that, they will all be alive to enjoy this administration.
