Road Construction: I’m Happy It Is happening In Our TIme-D. Gov

The Deputy Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Prof Placid Njoku has declared that his breathing becomes easier and nice when he sees the good pace of work going on in road construction sites in Imo state.

His Excellency, the Deputy Governor, made this declaration while inspecting the Ekemele junction where unprecedented work is being done day and night to recover the road which had been totally destroyed by flood and erosion for more than ten years with rains and soil issues negating all efforts by successive administrations to reconstruct and recover the Owerri Okigwe expressway for the state.

Speaking of the resolve of the government of Senator Hope Uzodinma to save Imo state from decades of infrastructural decay and dead public utilities, His Excellency the Deputy Governor assured the contractors that His Excellency the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma is keen to not only bring the dividends of democracy to the people but is so passionate about rewriting the narrative and bringing lasting and complete succor to the people.

His Excellency declared that the state government is resolved to ensure that the Ekemele junction ceases to be a lingering problem forthwith, asserting that this determination is clearly shown by the massive manhole drainage been constructed at Ekemele junction to ensure that the perennial flooding becomes a thing of the past. This has led the construction of one of the deepest water channels in the southeast to carry flood down to the Okitankwu river.

Responding, the engineers thanked the Deputy Governor Prof Placid Njoku for his uncommon determination, resilience, and hands-on approach that has energized them to work even day and night to beat the government deadlines to it to deliver on the project to Imo people. The Engineers revealed that the over 6-kilometer long massive manhole is targeted to permanently  solve the perennial  flooding and erosion suffered in the area
