He added that the road which serves as a major link to other states, when completed, will boost the state’s agricultural and economic growth because, according to him, it is on same road that heavy duty trailers and trucks carrying agricultural products, granites and various valuables ply on the route to get to the state.

“It might interest you to know that Craneburg construction company which has been contracted to undertake the reconstruction,  is a reputable German company known for its reliability and quality projects.

“It is an international company which has executed so many road projects both in Abuja, Lagos state and other states in Nigeria.

“Believe me, Craneburg is as good as Julius Berger in terms of construction and timely delivery, but I know so many people may not believe this.

“The two roads are very essential. You can now see that what the previous governments could not do, the Prosperity Governor has taken it upon himself to bring a new lease of life to users of this road.

“We can’t thank the Governor enough because he has shown that he is indeed a true reincarnate of late Dee Sam Mbakwe.

“All we need do is to provide the company with the necessary support by way of keeping to the road signs and instructions as the reconstruction lasts.

“I am very much convinced that, as a reputable company, it will provide an alternative route that will ease the traffic gridlock which may arise during the reconstruction especially now that the Yuletide is in the offing,” he said.

Meanwhile, our reporter who covered the flag off gathered that the Owerri-Orlu road will be 31km with dual carriage while that of Owerri-Okigwe will be 55km.
