The Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma has been extolled for delivering on his campaign promises by taking on the reconstruction of two major roads in the state; Owerri-Orlu and Owerri-Okigwe in line with his 3Rs mantra of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, and Recovery.
A renowned philanthropist and political leader in Imo, Prince Charles Amadi poured the encomiums on the Governor while speaking with journalists at Akabo in Ikeduru LGA during the flag of ceremony of Okigwe road.
The servant leader who spoke through his aide, Hon. Sir Anyaehie Okameme said that the reconstruction of the two major roads in the state will be a monumental achievement of the Shared Prosperity government.
He added that the road which serves as a major link to other states, when completed, will boost the state’s agricultural and economic growth because, according to him, it is on same road that heavy duty trailers and trucks carrying agricultural products, granites and various valuables ply on the route to get to the state.
“It might interest you to know that Craneburg construction company which has been contracted to undertake the reconstruction, is a reputable German company known for its reliability and quality projects.
“It is an international company which has executed so many road projects both in Abuja, Lagos state and other states in Nigeria.
“Believe me, Craneburg is as good as Julius Berger in terms of construction and timely delivery, but I know so many people may not believe this.
“The two roads are very essential. You can now see that what the previous governments could not do, the Prosperity Governor has taken it upon himself to bring a new lease of life to users of this road.
“We can’t thank the Governor enough because he has shown that he is indeed a true reincarnate of late Dee Sam Mbakwe.
“All we need do is to provide the company with the necessary support by way of keeping to the road signs and instructions as the reconstruction lasts.
“I am very much convinced that, as a reputable company, it will provide an alternative route that will ease the traffic gridlock which may arise during the reconstruction especially now that the Yuletide is in the offing,” he said.
Meanwhile, our reporter who covered the flag off gathered that the Owerri-Orlu road will be 31km with dual carriage while that of Owerri-Okigwe will be 55km.
The Governor while speaking at Banana junction Orlu, the flag off ground for Owerri-Orlu road, he disclosed that the reconstruction will gulp the some of 55billion naira and will take up to 18months to be completed.
He further asked the people of Imo state to be expectant of more goodies from the Shared Prosperity government, promising that he will do his best to return the state to its original master plan to the benefit of all and sundry.
Ikeduru IMC Boss Hails Uzodinma On Construction Of Okigwe, Orlu Roads
The Interim Management Committee chairman of Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo state, High Chief TonyJude Iwuamadi has extolled the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma for delivering on his campaign promises by awarding the Owerri/Orlu and Owerri/Okigwe roads for immediate reconstruction.
The IMC boss stated this at Okatankwu Akabo in Ikduru LGA during the official flag off of the road project held in the area last Monday.
Hon. Iwumadi while speaking, expressed joy that at last the people will feel the rejuvenating breeze of the shared prosperity government of Senator Hope Uzodinma by accessing good road network never seen before in the state.
According to him, the Governor has just substantiated on his promise to turning the fortunes of Imo state around within the first two years of his tenure.
“The Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma is a ‘talk and do Governor’. He is a man that has high respect Imo people. This was a promise he made a couple of months ago, today he is fulfilling it to the glory of God.
“We are aware that the Okigwe road is a major link connecting us with several states, so as Orlu road. When the project is completed, it will indeed reduce, to the bearest minimum, the growing traffic gridlock along the major road.
“Frankly speaking, Imo state has not had it so sweet like this. All we need do is to support him and the government to succeed because the state belongs to us all.”
In the same vein, he thanked the Governor for engaging a yet another reputable construction company (Craneburg Company Ltd) which, according to him, has constructed several solid projects across the country, expressing utmost confidence that it will deliver even more than Julius Berger.
He however assured that the entire Ikeduru people and others who ply the road regularly, will give the company maximum support in the course of the project especially now that the Yuletide is in the offing.
Concluding, Chief Iwuamadi further assured of maximum security to guide the company, pledging more support for the government.
