Philanthropist bags humanitarian award

A great philanthropist and business tycoon, Chief Amb. Victor C. Okolo, a native of Uke in Anambra State, has been honored with the “Humanitarian ServiceAward by the  National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Imo State chapter.

The recognition took place at the Pastoral Center in Owerri last week during the official inauguration of the Caretaker Committee of the apex youth body in the state.

Presenting the award to Chief Victor C. Okolo, Ambassador of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ambassador Uzoma Placid Nwachukwu, said that Okolo was the most deserving of the honor, noting that his empowerment programs for the people, especially youth and widows in his community and other numerous philanthropic gestures had earned him such recognition.

Uzoma, who prayed that God would continue to strengthen and replenish Chief Victor C. Okolo as he empowers more youths and women, commended him for rendering financial assistance and social services to the poor and most vulnerable in the Society, which he added would continue to endear him to the people of  Anambra and South East in general.

In response to the award, the award-winning Chief Victor C. Okolo, who is the president/founder of the Ike Uke Foundation (a charity organization) and a business giant, pledged that he will continue to assist the underprivileged, regardless of sex, gender or state of origin.

The number one auto dealer who expressed satisfaction at the honor bestowed on him, advised NYCN members to work responsibly and diligently in everything they do in order to move the council forward and to be able achieve success for them and for the society.

According to Okolo, “I started out as a bus driver in Lagos before achieving financial independence. I have been empowering young people in Anambra State and other parts of the country and I will continue to support the trajectory of young people in order to build a more prosperous and inclusive society, devoid of social vices and youth restiveness. God rewards according to each one’s effort. So, be sure to do your work diligently as you fear God and showcase your love to Humanity”.

He further highlighted that the NYCN’s honor to him will be a great moral booster and will motivate him to do ventures into more humanitarian activities that will benefit the society.
