Ozil Confirms That He Would Be Leaving Arsenal for Fenerbahce In Interview with Turkish TV

The Gunners biggest earner, Mesut Ozil has confirmed move to Fenerbahce in an interview with Turkish TV. AFP reports.

The development confirmed the early end of the midfielder’s contract with the Gunners as he joins Fenerbahce as a free agent on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

The 32-year-old has not played for Arsenal since March subsequent to being frozen out by manager Mikel Arteta.

Ozil was not registered in Arsenal’s Premier League and Europa League squads this season and has had the freedom to talk to other clubs since the start of January with his Gunners deal expiring in the late spring.

The developments came after progress was made in talks between Arsenal technical director Edu, Fenerbahce director Emre and Ozil’s agent.

It was made clear by the Gunners that they wanted Ozil to leave in January.
