Orlu IMC Chair Partners Timber Markets, Others

Hon. Chief Mrs. Nneoma Ifeoma Ndukwu (Ugosinachi), Chairman, Interim Management Committee, IMC, Orlu LGA has deliberated with leaderships of Orlu Timber Market Association, Hope Uzodinma Campaign Organization (HUCO), International Market Orlu Chapter and Hope Alive Youth Organization (HAYO).

Addressing the delegates of HAYO, the Chairman, Nneoma Ndukwu(Ugosinachi), appreciated them for their doggedness and commitment during the campaign period in 2019.

She promised to carry them along in the scheme of things at the appropriate time, even as she acknowledged, the organization shares the same agenda of “Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Recovery ” which is the 3Rs mantra of Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma(Onwa Oyoko), the Executive Governor of Imo-State.

Nneoma Ndukwu, who is an astute leader,  advised them to be good ambassadors of the Governor since they bear his name, reiterating, his emergence as Governor was divine, pointing out, her leadership has commenced some activities aimed at giving succor to the poorest of the poor in the society.

Earlier in his remarks, the leader of the delegation,  Barrister Darlington Omekagu Odumeh, who is also the State Legal Adviser of HAYO, informed, they were at the council to familiarize with the Chairman, Nneoma Ifeoma Ndukwu and to felicitate with her over the recent appointment as the Chairman of the Orlu LGA.

Mrs. Ifunanya Ejemba, the Woman Leader of the organization, also maintained, they were ready to partner with the Chairman at the local government level when the need arises.

Some of those that met with the Chairman were Comrades Stephen Ihejiofor and  Amobi Darlington Anasoh, the LGA Chairman and Secretary respectively, even as the officially presented her with a letter of appointment as the Patroness of the organization’ s chapter.

In another development, the Chairman, Interim Management Committee (IMC) Orlu LGA on the same day, interacted with the executive members of Orlu Timber Market Association led by Mr. Jude Amobi.

She charged them to maintain peace and decorum in the market, saying, it was the only way they could attract the presence of the Executive Governor of the State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma ( Onwa Oyoko) in terms of development and social amenities in the market.

The Council boss used the opportunity to remind them of her position as the Chief Servant of the people at the local government level. She informed, her new position was not given to her because of wisdom, money, firm or connection, but was considered for the appointment by the special grace of God who knows the hearts of men.

Nneoma Ndukwu appealed to them to also extend her appreciation to Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma (Onwa Oyoko) for finding her worthy of the position, advising, they should bring up ideas that would attract development of the area in the overall interest of the people, adding, she has no monopoly of knowledge.

The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor of Imo State, Nneoma Ndukwu told the market leaders to exercise patience with the Governor over the “Stay Home” directive, adding, the Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma feels their pains and the hardship they were going through. She stressed the Governor has no option than to direct the closure of markers due to the COVID- 19 pandemic.

She told them that, the directive was to restrict the indiscriminate movement of the people and to make sure the virus was not contacted by anyone in the state.

The indefatigable Chairman, further told them that the Governor has in his usual magnanimity, delivered trailer loads of rice, tubers of yam, and cash to various local government areas for sharing among the vulnerable, just as she informed, them to always ask God for wisdom in leading their members.

Mr. Jude Amobi, the Chairman of the Orlu Timber Market Association, had earlier informed the council Chairman, they were at the council headquarters to congratulate her on her appointment as Chairman, describing it as well deserved.

One of the delegates, Mr. Modestus Obiora, in his remarks eulogized the IMC Chairman for her sincerity of purpose before now, stating, they were not surprised over her recent appointment.

Chief Theophilus Nsonwu, told the Chairman, the present position is the beginning of other higher positions she would find herself in the nearest further, urging her, never to be afraid to move on politically.

Among the members of the association were Chief Emmanuel Amadikwa and Chief Anuka Ethel Anuka.

In the same vein, the Interim Management Chairman, IMC, Orlu LGA, Hon. Chief Mrs. Nneoma Ifeoma Ndukwu (Ugosinachi) also had in audience, delegates of Hope Uzodinma Campaign Organization (HUCO) Orlu International Market Chapter. She expressed happiness over their visit and encouraged them never to relent on their belief and support for the Governor of Imo state, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma (Onwa Oyoko).

Nneoma Ndukwu admonished them to always respect the leadership of the Orlu International Market as rancor and bickering would not bring any meaningful development and peace in the market.

Furthermore, she appealed,  they should continue to exercise patience over the closure of markets in the state as directed by the Governor of Imo-State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma, pointing out that, the stay home order was done in good faith and in the public interest. She told them to make sure, they educate others who were not in tandem with the purpose of the “lockdown”.

In his remarks earlier, the Coordinator of HUCO, Orlu International Market Chapter, Mr. Uche Osunkwo, stated, they were at the council to rejoice with the Interim Management Committee, Chairman over her recent appointment, which he said was not surprising to everyone. He said the association only sent three persons to Visit her in compliance with the directive given by the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma for everyone to stay home as part of measures put in place to curb the dreaded coronavirus from entering the state.

Others on the entourage were Chief Edwin Nyiudu and Mr. Ikechukwu Nwaku, the Secretary.
