Orlu APC under the keg of gun powder as 3 battle over apex leader

Except Governor Hope Uzodinma himself intervenes in the leadership crisis rocking the APC in Orlu Local Government, the party is likely going to lose any election in the future.

This however follows the struggle for the apex leader of the  party in Orlu LGA. The three persons conspicuously struggling for the seat of the apex leader include the S.A to the Governor on Revenue Mobilization and Capacity Development, Canice  Moor Nwachuwu, the Interim Management Committee Chairman Orlu LGA Mrs. Ifeoma Ndukwu and the Commissioner for Education in the State, Prof. Bernard Ikegwuoha.

Lead Newspapers gathered that since the appointment of the trio by the Uzodinma led administration, non of them sees eye to eye with one another and non of them too, takes advice or instruction from another on ways to pilot the affairs of the party.

During the recent distribution of APC materials for the party’s membership revalidation exercise, it was a war before the leaders resolved to share the materials for exercise.

Towards the tail end of 2020, majority of the APC members in the area passed vote of implicit confidence on the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma as well as Canice Moor, who they described as the apex leader of the party in Orlu.

In the bid to counter that, some persons in same Orlu few weeks ago, selected Prof. Ikegwuoha, the education commissioner as also the apex leader in Orlu LGA.

However, the argument of the later people was by virtue of the commissioner which is the highest position in Orlu, Ikegwuoga ought to be the apex leader, hence their selection and decision. While some are of the view that by virtue of being the number one citizen in Orlu, Mrs. Ifeoma Ndukwu, the Interim Management committee chairman ought to be the leader of the party in Orlu LGA others are of the opinion that Canice Moor, the Founder and General Overseer of the CampHope, the only political structure of the Governor who also recruited some of the supporters of Uzodinma, including both Ndukwu and Ikegwuoha should be respected as the apex leader of the party in the area.

Our Orlu correspondent who stormed into the office of Canice Moor, popularly known as Omeogo recently reported that the people of Umuna and Uzuobi Umuna, the political ward of the IMC Chairman, Ndukwu recently visited Omeogo in his office where they pledged their unalloyed support to him and the Governor.

According to the report, all the who is who in Umuna chorously identified Omeogo as their leader after chronicling his contributions in shaping the party in Orlu LGA and beyond.

Given the above struggle and quest for leadership, the stakeholders in Orlu are calling upon the Governor to intervene before the situation gets beyond control.

They  further advised the governor to take notice of the sensitive nature of Orlu politics where the former governor who ruled the state for eight years, Achike Udenwa hails and still a member of the PDP and many others, hence his intervention.
