Hon Commissioner for Commerce and industry, Kingsley Ononuju has cleared the air on what he described as fake news over the inauguration of the domestic Committee jointly constituted by Ministries of commerce, industry, and lands.
Ononuju was reacting to the news on both social media and print which hitherto proclaimed that the said ministries constituted land Recovery committee.
In a release signed by Ononuju himself and made available to Lead, Ononuju revealed that the said ministries only constituted what he termed domestic committee headed by him Ononuju amongst others to investigate an expanse of land mapped out and granted by the Okorocha’s administration for the establishment of Artisans market in Owerri Capital Territory.
As contained in the said release, the constitution of the committee followed a tip-off and outcry by the leadership of the Artisans in the state that the said Land designated for the establishment of Artisans Market has been converted to personal buildings by even individual who are not members of the group.
Ononuju who attributed the false news to the PDP people urged Imo people to ignore them and see the false information as one of the antics of the opposition to discredit the government of governor Uzodinma which is poised in given Imo the much-eluded dividends of democracy.
