Onicha Uboma celebrates new Yam festival Aug.23, It’s period of forgiveness-Monarch .

 All roads will lead to Onicha Uboma Autonomous Community in Ihitte Uboma Local Government on August 28 2021 for the annual new yam festival of the Community. 
This is even as the Traditional Ruler of the Community, HRH, Eze Barr Abel Osuji, Ukaji 111 has described the annual event as a period of Forgiveness and reunion.

In a release signed by the Traditional Ruler himself and made available to Lead, the legal Luminary turned monarch revealed that  the event would begin with a  Church Service at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church Onicha Uboma  on Sunday which according to him would provide the people with the opportunity of thanking God for his guidance and protection from the planting period to the harvesting time and after which, the event proper begins at the ancient  palace of Ukaji, the 111.

The release further revealed that the monarch has asked his subjects to use the period to pray for those in authority particularly president Buhari and the Governor of IMO State, senator Hope Uzodinma for God’s guidance revealing that power comes from God.
 In same release, Lead gathered that some prominent friends of the practicing lawyer of many years standing have begun to send their good will messages to the Community over the event. 
Some of the persons who had sent their good will messages at the time of this report include, former Governor of Imo State, Navy Captain James Aneke, former Minister of Arts and Culture, Major General Haruna  Rtd I.B.M,  Prof Aloy Ejiogu, former Director General, National Orientation Agency.  Others include,  Prof, Lanre  Fagbohun, former Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University,  Dr. Steve Ojeh of Shell Petroleum,  Mr Lakanu ,former Commissioner of Police Imo State and a Chieftaincy  Title holder of the Community,  Rt Hon Jonas Okeke, former Deputy Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly amongst others. Eze Osuji who used the medium to appeal with the NDDC to look into the abandoned Onicha Uboma Ezinachi Road for immediate attention prayed to God to guide and protect all that would grace the occasion.
