An Owerri-based independent firm, Genic Promotions, has scored the government of Senator Hope Uzodinma of Imo state low in all 15 sectors which was subjected to the professional scrutiny and evaluation of the firm.
The Executive Director of the firm, Dr Eweliwe Ahaiwe, stated that the administration made an average percentage score of 23.7% as against the 51% made by Chief Rochas Okorocha within a similar time-frame in his own administration while also disclosing that Chief Ikedi Ohakim within a similar period as a governor in the state (2007 and 2011) made an average score of 36%.
He also stated that Chief Achike Udenwa, another former governor of Imo state within his first one year in office recorded an average percentage score of 52% after a professional scrutiny and evaluation of sector-by-sector achievements of his administration.
He explained that the report of the evaluation showed that the Uzodinma administration’s best performance was under Sports Plans and Development where he recorded a total percentage score of 48% while his worst performance was under Worker’s Welfare and Industrial Harmony where he was rated a paltry 5%.
Other sectors evaluated and rated by the firm included: Health 31%, Internal Revenue Generation 30%, Roads 40%, Waste Management 18%, Traffic Control 16%, Market Development 20%. More of the sectors evaluated are: Local Government Autonomy 15%, Security 32%, Educational Plans and Development 26%, Payment of Pension and Gratuity 22%, Agricultural Plans and Development 28%, Industrial Development 10% .
He said by comparative terms, it was obvious that the present government in the state is the worst since the advent of the present democratic experiment going by the afore-stated statistics.
