Okigwe Senate: APGA Chair Vows To Stop Araraume, Others

As Onyirimba inaugurates Campaign Coordinators The All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA Chairman in Imo State Mr. John Iwuala has declared the parties resolve to win the Okigwe Senate seat as the election gets set to hold with INEC’s announcement of the resumption of activities.

The APGA Chairman was speaking during the inauguration of the Campaign Organization of Barr Charles Onyirimba who would be flying the party flag to the election.

Iwuala declared that APGA was ready to ensure that rigging and manipulation, as well as result writing, would not work in the Okigwe Senate election as the party was adopting the Termite approach to ensure those in the habit of rigging elections since 1999 would not find it easy again. Iwuala had previously called on APGA members to shun palliatives from Senator Ifeanyi Araraume who was the 2019 APGA Governorship candidate but had recently defected to the APC.

His reference to 1999 which was when Senator Ifeanyi Araraume had gone to the Senate has been seen by many as a declaration of war by the APGA chairman against Senator Ifeanyi Araraume. John Iwuala stated that Charles Onyirimba was the best to represent the zone in the Senate and expressed his confidence that APGA would win the election insisting that the party have won every election ever held in the South East.

Many political heavyweights have declared interest in the Okigwe Senate seat including the wife as well as the sister of the late Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu. Senator Ifeanyi Araraume is also expected to declare his intention to contest but has remained silent over the matter. It is expected that he would make his intentions known as soon as INEC releases guidelines for the Senate election which is expected to happen soon.
