Okigwe Bye-Election:

Hearing Begins Today On Araraume, Ibezim

… Uwajumogu Joins Suit

Federal High Court  Rivers will begin hearing on the APC candidate for Okigwe bye-election Frank Ibezim and senator Araraume who also contested for the primaries under the same APC platform.

Araraume has gone to court to challenge the APC primaries which Ibezim is holding the Ticket for the bye-election slated for 31st October.

Information from Araraume’s media made available to Lead, High Court port Harcourt would begin hearing on the said matter today Wednesday 23rd September.

Frank Ibezim was declared the winner of the APC primaries for Okigwe bye-election by the chairman of the APC panel that conducted the election while the other members of the group declared Araraume winner.

Araraume has gone to court on the grounds that given the election results that emanated from the field that he won, therefore wondered how another person would be declared winner in his stead.

Recall that Governor Hope Uzodinma had before the primaries appealed with the Aspirants numbering eleven to select a consensus amongst them so as to avert unnecessary expenses hence only one person would emerge the candidate of the party at the long run.

This suggestion by the Governor was thrown overboard as all of them went ahead to purchase forms.

Meanwhile, one of the Aspirants, Chidinma Uwajumogu, the sister to late senator Benjamin Uwajumogu has joined in the suit and all of the suits would be heard today.
