Oguta Youths Call On Uzodinma To Appeal Judgment On 2018 ALGON

Oguta Youths Reject Court Verdict Reinstating Okorocha’s LGA Council.

Oguta Community Development Union, OCDU, Youth Wing, has rejected the recent Court Verdict that reinstated the sacked Local Government Council because they were not duly elected by the people.

The Youth made their position known through Comr. Akeru Ben, who is the President of Oguta Ameshi Youth, shortly after a meeting, held on Sunday at the community.

OCDU noted with “dismay the preposterous and anti-democratic judgement that was passed by Justice Tijani Ringim, of the Federal High Court, Owerri, on Wednesday, July 21, 2020, sacking all the appointed Transition Management Committee Chairmen and their Ward Councillors from Office. The obnoxious judgement which ordered for an immediate reinstatement of the so-called winners of that fraudulent and ill-motivated election conducted by the former Governor of the State, Rochas Okorocha, few months to the end of his second tenure, remains unacceptable and inadmissible in the current political framework in Imo State”.

Akeru said the “entire youths of Oguta, under the leadership of OCDU Youth Wing, warn that the purported Court Judgement, was aimed at unsettling the good policies and agenda of the leadership of Governor Hope Uzodimma and his legitimately, duly appointed Interim Management Committee assigned to administer leadership at the local government areas”.

The youth told Okorocha to bury his face in shame as he wickedly sacked Ikedi Ohakim’s elected Council in 2011, who they frowned, Okorocha never allowed back to office having won him in the Court, instead appointed his cronies as Interim Management Committee Chairmen and Members, saying the case died with the expiration of their legal tenure.

“Okorocha, who murdered justice in his tenure, is now seeking justice just to destabilize the Shared Prosperity leadership. He will not succeed because he cannot eat his cake and still have it. Whatever one sows will he reap, because nature will never be cheated on”.

According to Akeru, “we wish to inform those disgruntled elements parading themselves as beneficiaries of the said abominable election and their sponsors, who are on this ill-fated mission that we are poised to resist and frustrate their agenda by any means possible. We have pegged ourselves to the ground waiting impatiently for any daredevil politician or their jobless cronies, who will allow themselves to be used as puppets for actualizing this wicked political conspiracy, to set his foot anywhere near the threshold of our prestigious oil-bearing local government council and see how history will be made on that day.

“We salute the courage of Imo people, who in one way or another, demonstrated their disgust against the miscarriage of justice in Imo. We hope that together if we desperately eschew evil, we can overcome every unpopular agenda that is capable of truncating the relative peace we have always enjoyed in Imo State”.

While praising Governor Hope Uzodinma for his efforts to restoring, recovering and rehabilitating Imo State, OCDU thanked the leader of Ohaji, Egbema, Oguta and Oru-West Constituency, Rt Hon Goodluck Nanah Opia, Oguta Apex leader, Killian Uche-egbu and Hon Emma Mazi, Oguta TC Chairman, for their grand contributions to the development of Niger Delta Areas and Imo State in general.
