Obey Appeal Court’s Ruling -Ihezuo Advises 2018 ALGON

Barr Ikenna Ihezuo has called on the suspended 2018 ALGON to obey the ruling of the Court of Appeal which hitherto charged all the parties in the suit to maintain status quo pending the determination of the substantive suit.

Iheuzuo a legal luminary of long-standing was reacting to alleged plans by the embattled chairmen and councillors of 2018 set which the Ihedioha led administration suspended upon assumption of office on may 2019 for forcefully take control of LGAs administration.

Answering questions on his take on the legal battle between the suspended ALGON, he made it clear that the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria provides for what he”termed hierarchy of Courts in Nigeria “which include but not limited to High courts and courts of Appeal.

According to Dr. Ihezuo who admitted that Owerri division of the Federal High Court had given its judgment which however called for the reinstatement of the embattled 2018 ALGON had which by all standards ought to be enforced adding that the obtaining of stay of execution order issued to the State Government by a higher court which in this case is the court of Appeal had vitiated the initial Judgment of the high court hence the parties should allow the status quo which in the instant case implies that 2018 suspended ALGON should maintain their cool by remaining where they were before the judgment of the Federal High Court pending the determination of the substantive suit.

Ihezuo who contested the Orlu, Orsu and Oru East Federal Constituency in the 2019 elections used the forum to commend Uzodinma for toeing the line of peace in handling the issue of suspended ALGON further charged Imo people to remain supportive of the Governor who he said, is ready and prepared to take Imo to an enviable height.

He further used the medium to commend the State Government for paying pensions and salaries of the workers in the state.
