Workers in the 27 Local Government Areas of lmo State yesterday declared that Governor Hope Uzodimma has been prompt in the payment of their salaries.
They also declared that the forensic audit of that their tier of government has freed more money for the councils to execute people oriented projects after payment of salaries.
In a thank you message the workers sent to the governor, they expressed satisfaction with his style of governance which has translated to the rapid transformation of the state in the last four months.
In the message signed by the president of lmo state chapter of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Comrade Pastor Richard Eze and the Publicity Secretary/PRO, Comrade C. C. Ebem Njoku, the workers were unequivocal that Uzodinma takes their welfare seriously.
“The appointment of directors of administration and general services in the LGAs and the regular payment of salaries and pensions by our governor are clear manifestation of your desire to return the LGAs to their lost glory”, they acclaimed.
According to them,” Your current moves to sanitize and reposition the service and its operations through the rehabilitation of the State s#ecretariat, provision of working tools including vehicles to officials are commendable”.
They were also happy that Uzodinma has embarked upon the reposition of the entire public service through regular payment of salaries and pensions and provision of basic infrastructure for the smooth operation of the service.
They were also gratified that Uzodinma had in the last four months focused on the total recovery and rehabilitation of the state in line with his cardinal objectives.
The workers noted with satisfaction the determination of the governor to stamp out corruption in service which has led to the monthly recovery of ₦2b from payroll cabals.
