Nkwerre youths Beat Police Half-Dead Over Alleged Homosexual activity

… As Command Arrest 3 Robbery Suspects

Some youths from Umueze autonomous community in Nkwere Local Government Area of Imo have beaten a police officer attached to the division, Chibuike Ukazu, and his partner to stupor for allegedly engaging in the act of homosexuality. This piece of information was contained in a press release made available to newsmen in Owerri, through the office of the Imo state command police public relations officer, Sp Godson Orlando Ikeokwu.

According to the release, on the 21st of April 2020, upon information received through a phone call, the Divisional Police officer in charge of  Nkwere  Division promptly moved into Umueze autonomous community in Nkwere and rescued one F/NO.512351 Chibuike Ukazu.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the youths of the community claimed to have caught the constable with one of his friend’s name yet unknown,  but he is nicknamed ‘YELLOW’, in act of homosexuality, as a result, the youths bounced on them and beat them to stupor before they were taken to the Palace of the traditional ruler, where they were rescued by the DPO and his team.

The command, therefore, warned members of the public to desist  from taking laws into their hand by resorting to self-help especially on infractions by the members of the Police or other security agencies, all are advised to report all grievances to the nearest  Police station for prompt and decisive action.

However, an investigation into the matter has commenced with a view to  unravel what actually  transpired and if found culpable will  face the wrath of the law.

Meanwhile, the lmo state police command under the leadership of, Cp Bolaji Faforowa has arrested three men for armed robbery , and their names were given as, James Agonsi, from Ndiuchi Arondizogu, ThankGod Albert, from Ugwunagbo in Abia state and Chinonso Ezeobi, from Uga Aguata LGA in Anambra state. This piece of information was contained in a press release made available to newsmen in Owerri by the command’s police public relations officer, Sp Ikeokwu Godson Orlando.

According to the press release, on the 17th of April 2020 Operatives of the Special  Anti Robbery Squad SARS, Acting on credible  intelligence arrested the above  person at various locations around Ideato South Local Government Area of Imo state.

It further disclosed that they were arrested for their involvement in the robbery of one Martha Otigba, from Umuakam in Ideaoto South Local Government Area, adding that upon the search of their houses, items stolen from the Victim were recovered in the houses.

However, the suspects according to the release,  led operatives to  Umuobom in Ideato south where their arms and ammunition were recovered.

Even as it maintained that they have made confessional statements, while the investigation is ongoing and they will be arraigned in  court  at the conclusion of the  investigations.
