Niger residents in Imo accuse Hausas of maltreatment, call for government intervention

The President of Niger Republic in Imo State Hon Ibrahim Dan Gali, and State Coordinator Hausa Traders Association, Imo State chapter have decried the incessant intimidation by Hausa Community, calling on the State Government to intervene.

Addressed journalists recently at Amawusa Naze Industrial Cluster, Hon Gali disclosed that “the Hausa’s Community administration  led by Sarkin of Imo State, and Chairman of Muslim Council  of Imo State Prince Bashear Uwakwe have  never accommodated them in anything they are doing at all”.

 “All the people of Niger Republic that lost their lives at Orlu were never recognised,  the Sarkin of Imo Sate with his executives have not come for condolences.

 All the Sallah which they have been celebrating in Imo State, which our able Governor, Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodinma has been giving all the Muslims Sallah gift, we have not receive any of it”.

Hon Dan Gali however appealed to the amiable and understanding Governor to come to their aid, stating vehemently that “things are getting worst for them despite the huge revenue they are paying to Imo State account”.

“We are crying to the Governor of Imo State that the Amawusa Naze Industrial Cluster Market which their revenue is coming from has no easy access to their market, gully erosion everywhere.

We plead with the Governor of the State Imo, to recognize, and accommodate us because we are also citizens of Imo State and also citizens of ECOWAS,” he submitted.
