The member representing Isu State Constituency in Imo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Ngozi Obiefule, has been honored with the “Ambassador Woman of Inspiration” award by the National Council for Women’s Societies, NCWS, Imo State chapter.
The accolade was bestowed on her during the 2020 International Women’s Day celebration, held at the former FSP Park, Mbari, Owerri, on Saturday, with the theme “We Are Generation Equality; Realizing Women’s Rights”. Conferring the award to the outstanding Woman Legislator, NCWS noted that the Medal of Honor was in “Recognition of her Outstanding Achievement and Exceptional Courage” for encouraging and empowering women to carve a niche for themselves and families including her contributions to the development of Isu LGA and Imo State at large.
Responding to the award, Rt Hon Ngozi Obiefule, said the honor will spur her to intensify efforts to contribute to the growth of women and the society, especially through effective legislation. “I believe we women are each other’s mirrors. I’m being judged by people, not by myself. I promise to continue to support my fellow women to move them forward especially via quality legislation.
Because women helped me to be where I am today. Hence, let us always do our best to represent women well. I’m glad for the celebration of Women’s Day, 2020″, Obiefule said. Obiefule who expressed gratitude to NCWS for finding her worthy of the award said NCWS is an umbrella body for all registered women organizations in the country and charged women to maintain virtue to have a perfect and peaceful home.
“I Started from scratch, hence I indulge women especially mothers to continue to work hard, remain virtuous, take care of their families while persevering. Use little money you have to do trading to advance better living for your family even as you keep yourselves and respect your husbands”.
