‘Leave Orlu, We Are Not In A State Of War’ – Ohanaeze To Soldiers

Ohanaeze Ndigbo General Assembly Worldwide has asked the soldiers to leave Orlu, Imo State.

The President General of the group, Onyeachonam Onuorah, who called for quietness, spoke to soldiers to leave the town.

The gathering’s assertion read to a limited extent, “It is condemnable for Governor Hope Uzodinma to lock up individuals in their homes for quite a long time without making arrangements that will ease up the impacts of hunger, wellbeing challenges and other untold difficulty the imposed curfew has caused in the affected communities.

“We therefore caution IPOB and MASSOB to quit offering unguarded expressions that wind up jeopardizing the lives of Ndigbo.

“We are not at battle with the Nigerian Government and those prompting activities fit for deteriorating the all-around strained circumstances in the country to civil war should stop from such with immediate effect.

“For what reason are the South East governors dying in silence? The silence of our South-East governors is not, at this point brilliant. You can’t furnish your people with security; you can’t take a choice and remain by it.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo General Assembly Worldwide will demand for the resignation of all the South East governors since they have all set out to say nothing about the matter. Some are even abroad and imposing curfew from there, this madness must stop.”

Governor Hope Uzodimma had in January imposed curfew in 10 local government areas of the state after a conflict between security operatives and members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), a security apparatus set up by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The clash occurred after some soldiers were assaulted for purportedly attacking some youths in the town.

The soldiers were said to have returned later at night, just to meet hardened opposition from personnel of the IPOB security outfit.
