Lawyer Describes RAP’s Petition AS Dead On Arrival

One of the chieftains of the APC in Imo and Orlu in particular, Dr. Ikenna Ihezuo has described the on-going instituted court case by the Reform Advance Political party aimed at removing Governor Hope Uzodinma from the seat of Governance as a mere distraction and dead on arrival.

Ihezuo, a legal practitioner of long-standing disclosed this in Owerri after attending one of the APC meetings held in Owerri called on the plaintiffs to sheath their sword and allow Uzodinma who he described as God’s sent to lead Imo to that promised land.

According to Ihezuo who contested for Orlu, Orsu, and Oru East Federal constituency in the 2019 polls, he charged those who want to run for the governorship seat of Imo to prepare for 2023 adding that Uzodinma must conclude his constitutionally provided terms.

Reform Advance Political party has instituted legal action in Abuja Federal High Court against the candidature of Uzodinma in 2019 APC governorship primaries.

In the ongoing suit, the said political party is praying the court amongst others to interpret the Supreme Court’s judgment of 2019 which ruled amongst others that the AA Governorship candidate Ugwumba Uche Nwosu ought to be the APC Governorship candidate.

The on-going suit which attracted varying reactions by Imo people when it was instituted was adjourned for September after been heard last Monday 20th of July.

In reacting to the said suit, one of the Imo born Professors of law, Nnamdi Obiareri described the suit as baseless which would be struck out on grounds of lack of merit.

Obiareri who reportedly described the suit as a mere distraction used the medium to call on the plaintiffs to allow the governor to concentrate.

While the matter comes up for hearing by September, Ihezuo called on Imo people o remain supportive of Governor Uzodinma’s administration.
