Imo North Bye-Election: Okigwe Youths Demand Partnership With Onyirimba

… Describe Him Best For Seat

The youths of Okigwe zone under the aegis of Youth Movement for Okigwe Development (YMOD) have resolved to partner with  Dr. Charles Onyirimba in his quest to become the next senator of the zone.

In a communique signed by their leaders and addressed to Dr. Charles Onyirimba dated 3rd August 2020 entitled  “Proposal To Partner With You In Your Senatorial Project,”  the youths said their resolution was based on their conviction that he has the most youth-friendly package amongst the contenders in addition to being the best in terms of preparation for the job.

The youths lamented the absence of youth-support schemes by the past representatives in the zone, observing that they were more concerned about using them as thugs to achieve their dirty and nefarious goals after which they dumped them.

The communique also reeled out their frustrations over the sad state of political affairs in the zone, saying the best way they can tackle the anomaly is by jettisoning that master-minding the ugly trend for those with forward-looking plans and ideas.

They contended that Dr. Onyirimba who is the APGA senatorial candidate stands out amongst the other contenders as one who is sincere in his campaign promises and also possessing the requisite experience and intellectual capacity to give the zone an effective representation.

They applauded him for single-handedly sponsoring  147 indigent youths to seek greener pastures in the USA as well as offering different ranges of scholarships to 580 people in need between 1991 and 2018, adding that he will perform wonders under a public platform having done so much with his limited private purse.

The letter was signed by one person each from the six LGAs in the zone. The signatories are as follows: Joshua Mbagwu( Isiala Mbano),  Martin Ogbonna (Obowo), Ifeanyi Emedom (Ehime Mbano), Edmund Iwunze (Onuimo), Chijioke Nwosu (Okigwe) and Bruno Ukaegbu (Ihitte/ Uboma).

Recall that a few months ago, six groups from various local governments of Okigwe zone had endorsed the candidature of Onyirimba.

The said groups who in their various communiqué signed by their leaders pledged their unalloyed support for Onyirimba made it clear that amongst all the aspirants yearning for the seat, Onyirimba is the most qualified.

The said groups included movement for Accelerated Development of Okigwe Zone (Madoz) Okigwe zone professional Elites  Association, (OZOPELA) Izu Umunne. Others Include New Network for Okigwe zone’s Development (NENOZOD), Okigwe zone  Elders council (OZEC), and Concerned Leaders of Okigwe Zone (COHOZ).
