The Interim Management Committee chairman in the twenty-seven local Governments may start either to prepare to contest for the Local Government elections in Imo or to surrender to the government anytime, a new date is fixed for the local government council polls as Governor Uzodinma had yesterday inaugurated the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC).
The governor who upon the swearing-in of the five-man member commission ordered them to start immediately to prepare for the election of the local government.
Governor Hope uzodinma had a few months ago appointed five-man member into the ISIEC commission to oversee the commission upon dissolving the one appointed by his predecessor Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha.
The five-man committee which has Mrs. Pauline Onyeka as chairman, Henry Adimelechi, Fisher Ezeugo, Mrs. Jecinta Uchechukwu, and Charles Ohiri as members were asked by the governor to lay a good foundation for a credible and an all-inclusive local government election in Imo.
Speaking on behalf of the members, the chairman, Mrs. Pauline Onyeka expressed gratitude to the governor for finding them worthy of the offices while assuring the readiness of the commission to deliver accordingly.
