Against directives of the state government that all revenue collection, of all sorts, be stopped pending another directive, the Imo State Environmental Transformation Commission (Imo ENTRACO) has embarked on the issuance of what they termed Consolidated Demand Notice to offices and shop owners in Owerri and its environs.
In a letter with the Logo of the Imo State Government signed By Barr. Mary Onyekafor the general manager, ENTRACO, office owners, and shops were asked to pay the sum of five thousand naira as levies for the year 2020.
As contained in the letter, failure to pay the said sum within seven days would attract prosecution.
However, mouths have not stopped wagging since the receipt of the notice by Imo people as to whether or not the same Government that gave the earlier directives has changed its stand within two days.
Imo people have also called on the relevant authorities to ascertain whether the Government is aware of the on-going development.
