Imo APGA Expresses Optimism Of Winning Okigwe Bye Election

Imo State caretaker Committee Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Hon. John Iwuala has declared that Okigwe Zone is dominated by his party.

Hon. Iwuala made this declaration, the weekend when the APGA southeast Stakeholders met in Owerri for onward repositioning of the party. The meeting which was held at the Party Secretariat saw the Chairmen of the South Eastern states, the expanded Excos in the state, and other top leaders across the zone.

Speaking further, the state party Boss noted that in 2019   general election, Providence made it possible that the three major political parties; APC, APGA, and PDP in the state shared their governorship candidates among the three Senatorial zones Orlu, Okigwe and Owerri zone respectively.

He expressed optimism that voters in the zone would replicate the love they have for the party in the forthcoming Senatorial election slated to hold on 31st of this month.

During the meeting, the Anambra State Chairman of the party Chief Lambert Obi who represented the leader of the party, Gov. Willie Obiano stated that the aim of holding the meeting in Imo State was to rejig the party in the State and restrategize it for future elections.

Chief Obi tasked members of the party both in the state and beyond to ensure that they obtain their PVCs because according him, “PVC is the only weapon to vote out any bad government and enthrone a good one”. He however boasted the Anamra people are enjoying good governance.

He reassured that the party would support wholeheartedly her candidate Atty. Charles Onyirimba during the Okigwe Senatorial bye election just as he charged party faithful to campaign vigorously for him to come out victorious.

More so, another personality at the meeting was the BOT Chairman of APGA UK, Hon. Okechukwu Emereonye noted that the party would have a cause to celebrate after the Imo North Senatorial bye-election.

Hon. Emereonye who was the party’s candidate for Aboh Mbaise/ Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency in the 2019 general election disclosed to members that APGA UK has been inaugurated in different countries of the world.

Others who lend their voices included the amalgamated town Unions from the south-eastern states living in Okigwe assured the party stakeholders of their commitment to deliver her candidate on 31st October 2020.
