The leadership crisis rocking the Imo State chapter of the APC may not end soon as two factions have begun to suspend the supposed leaders at the State.
In a letter termed Letter of suspension signed by Nlemigbo in his capacity as the caretaker committee chairman of the APC in Imo and made available to Lead, the leadership of the Umunoha/Azara ward in Mbaitoli Local Government revealed that Hon Daniel Nwafor has been suspended from the ward as a member of the APC.
As contained in the said letter dated 31st August, the said Nwafor was suspended over allegations of insubordination amongst other anti-party activities.
On the other side of the coin, the leadership of the Ezinihitte ward in Mbaitoli Local Government has suspended Marcellinus Nlemigbo from the APC.
In a letter of suspension dated 3rd January 2018 as signed by the ward chairman, Opara Henry, the ward Secretary Clinton Gbamant amongst other Executive members and made available to Lead, Nlemigbo was suspended over anti-party activities amongst others.
In the same manner, the said suspension of Nlemigbo by his immediate Ezinihitte was further ratified by the Mbaitoli Leadership of the APC.
In a letter dated 11th of January 2019, signed by the APC Local Government acting chairman, Onyema Godson as well as Secretary Chuks Opara, the party upon ratification of the suspension made it clear that they had forwarded the same to the leadership of the party in the State.
It would be recalled that the leadership crisis rocking the APC in Imo started in 2018, when the NWC under the leadership of the Adams Oshimohole then dissolved the Imo State SWC led by Dan Nwafor and constituted the controversial caretaker led by Nlemigbo.
Dissatisfied with the said dissolution, Nwafor and his Exco proceeded to court where they got a favorable judgment stopping the other party from interrupting Nwafor’s leadership on the ground that his tenure at the said time had not expired.
