IGP gets three months extension in office – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday extended the tenure of the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu for three months.

The Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi made this known while briefing State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Dingyadi said Buhari’s decision to extend the IGP’s tenure for another three months was to properly select the new personnel that will fit into the office.

Recall that the IGP is expected to vacate the office on Monday, having reached the mandatory retirement age.
