Amidst the Coronavirus pandemic, the people of Iho Dimeze in Ikeduru LGA of Imo State have expressed fears that the continued operation of a night club in the community will put lives of residents of the community in great danger.
The angry community was worried that a particular night club or hotel situated close to St Mary’s Catholic Church I hope has remained adamant to the directives of the state government that no gathering of people for such business is allowed in the state to check the spread of Covid-19 in the state.
Our investigation gathered that the said hotel/night club has continued operations, despite government order on such business.
It was also gathered that lorry drivers from other states converge there at nights, thereby exposing the community to the risk of Covid-19 spread.
What is more worrisome is that the night club/hotel is very close to the Ikeduru council headquarters, yet the council has done nothing to stop this dangerous situation.
The angry residents called on Governor Hope Uzodinma to take immediate action to save the community from danger.
