Enyinna Onuegbu Describes Shared Prosperity Govt As Restored Hope For Imo

Imo State Commissioner for Lands and Physical Planning, Barr Enyinna Onuegbu says the shared prosperity government if Senator Hope Uzodinma has brought hope to Imo people, barely months in office.

The Honourable Commissioner who spoke in Owerri shortly after the State Governor provided buses to Imo Civil Servants for free transport services for workers explained that the free transportation program, would not only help civil servants to save the huge amount of money they hitherto spent on public transportation, it would also save them from the inconvenience of struggling every day with passengers.

He also thanked the Governor for allocating vehicles to appointees to enhance their work and capacity.

However, Hon. Commissioner knocked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for faulting the gesture by the governor, saying, that the gesture is far better than when Ihedioha used public funds that equal the cost of ten of these vehicles to buy the latest Mercedes Benz Limousine for himself just barely five months in office before he was sacked.

The commissioner also recalled how Ihedioha gave government vehicles to officials of the PDP in breach of Procurement laws and queried the moral qualification of the PDP to criticize Governor Uzodinma.

He gave kudos to the Governor for restoring the confidence of Imo Civil Servants in the ability of government to adhere to its statutory obligations to the civil servants, describing some of the gestures as unprecedented as they were meant to improve the social and economic well being of workers.

The Commissioner said apart from the series of measures taken by the governor to restore the dignity of civil servants, the administration of Senator Hope Uzodinma has demonstrated capacity and determination to affect the lives of the people in many ways.

The Ngor Okpala born Commissioner observed that the administration has embarked on numerous road projects in the state capital and in the rural areas, contrary to what the opposition had expected.

“As you can see road projects are ongoing in different places in the state. Before now Traders at the Owerri Relief Market found it difficult to access the market. Today the road leading to the market from MCC road junction has been ongoing with quality drainage facilities.”

The Commissioner continued to applaud the administration for running an open and integrity-driven land administration in contrast to what was obtained in the past nine years of predatory tendencies.

He posited that the Governor’s wide administrative experience as a two-term senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has been brought to bear to recover, reconstruct and rehabilitate a state that was almost destroyed in the past nine years.

He said Imo people will, at last, rejoice for having Senator Hope Uzodinma as their governor and called on all right-thinking Imolites to support efforts to recover, reconstruct and rehabilitate the state to achieve shared prosperity for all.

“From what we are seeing in just a few months in office, then imagine what Imo will be like in the next four years”

Also, he pointed out that the Governor’s determination to give Imo people portable drinking water as presently witnessed in the capital city of Owerri cannot be ignored by anybody who knew what residents of Owerri saw eight years ago.

Chief Onuegbu explained that these measures so far taken by the Uzodinma government were in line with the vision of the founding fathers of the state.
