Ahead of 2023, the sitting Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El Rufai has vowed to support the presidential bid of southern Nigeria to succeed President Buhari.
This is even as he denied having an interest in the said seat come 2023.
Elrufai who disclosed this to Journalists last Saturday maintained that though zoning of the presidential seat is not contained in the country’s constitution but insisted that Nigerians saw it as the only solution that can enhance unity in diversity hence it’s adoption.
Elrufai who was reacting to the statement made by President Buhari’s nephew Mamman Daura who posited that competence should be allowed to prevail over the 2023 Presidency in place of zoning.
Elrufai, however, posited that the nation has always maintained eight years tenure for the north and south adding that it would be uncalled for any northerner to think of contesting for the presidency after Buhari’s second term
