As nations all over the globe continue to celebrate workers, a frontline politician, and successful businessman, Chief Tobechukwu Justice Ehirim has described workers as the engine room of any developed nation.
In a release signed by the Deputy Director, Media, and Publicity, Project TJ Ehirim, Ikenna Onuoha, and made available to newsmen in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, Chief Ehirim, who holds a Chieftaincy title of (Nwanagamkpa) said that since no nation succeeds without the contribution of workers, he suggested the need for leaders to increase their welfare packages to serve as morale booster in the performance of their duties.
The political strategist disclosed this in his May Day broadcast, expressed bitterness that despite the natural resources available for both Imo State and Nigeria at large, workers were still passing through difficulties to sustain their lives.
Chief Ehirim, a successful Professional, Technocrat, and Seasoned Administrator, therefore, appealed to Imo workers not to lose hope due to how leaders treat them, assuring that soon, they would heave a sigh of relief.
According to him, it is not only callous, uncalled for, and sheer wickedness for political office holders to treat workers like tissue papers, but a deliberate ploy to destroy the future of the people for self aggrandizements.
Chief Ehirim while listing, education, agriculture, health, roads, infrastructure, and human empowerment as sectors in Imo State that require urgent attention, further called on the ruling class not to put God behind them in all their dealings with the poor masses.
He, therefore, expressed optimism that if workers and the entire Imolites could exercise little patience, their sufferings would become a thing of the past.
It can be recalled that Chief Ehirim, a University of Nigeria, Nsukka trained Pharmacist, is the First Nigerian to establish a Pharmaceutical company in Johannesburg, South Africa in the history of mankind.
Similarly, he is a Senior Public Servant, Administrator in the Gauteng Provincial Government of South Africa, a trained Supply Chain Expert and Business Administrator among others.
