Chikwem Onuoha Again Shares 15,000 Sanitizers In Okigwe Zone, Vows TO Support Uzodinma’s Mission

Hon. Chikwem Chijioke Onuoha, All Progressives Congress APC strong Contender for Imo North ( Okigwe Zone) Senatorial District bye-election, has shared fifteen thousand potent alcohol-based hand sanitizers and other Personal Protective Equipment ( PPE ) to the people of Okigwe Zone to mitigate the harsh effects of Coronavirus pandemic in the zone.

Onuoha, popularly known as Omeiheukwu while flagging off the distribution exercise which lasted for three days on Monday 30th of March 2020, expressed profound gratitude over strategies, steps, and efforts being taken thus far by Governor Hope Uzodinma to prevent the pandemic from penetrating into the state.

He maintained that Team Chikwem Onuoha will continue to support and partner with Governor Hope Uzodinma’s agenda towards ensuring that Imo state is free from Coronavirus, pointing out that the Governor has shown deep dedication, concern and total commitment over the fight against COVID 19 in the state, arguing that Gov Uzodinma being a true humanitarian has continued to work tirelessly since the outbreak of Coronavirus to ensuring that all Imolites are well protected.

Onuoha who also promised to embark on fumigation of major markets in Okigwe Zone, further noted that Governor Uzodinma should be commended for putting the health interest of Imo people first, adding that the Governor has achieved much with the support of critical stakeholders in the state.

Onuoha who further stressed that the Imo state must be rehabilitated, reconstructed and recovered, however, used the opportunity to encourage the people of Okigwe Zone to strictly follow NCDC and Government directives and guidelines to ensure that Okigwe Zone is safe from the virus.

The distribution exercise which was carried out by #Teamchikwemonuoha# started on Monday being 30th of March 2020 at the Malaysian market and covered Obowo, Ihitte Uboma and Ehime Mbano Local Government Areas for the first trench of five thousand bottles.

The second trench of five thousand bottles started on Wednesday being the 1st of April 2020 at Okigwe Police Area Command and covered Okigwe, Onuimo and Isiala Mbano Local Government Areas.

During the distribution exercise, people’s homes, markets and those involved in the execution of essential services were visited and presented with PPE by the team led Hon Emeka Ibe.

On Saturday, being the 4th of April 2020, the team further embarked on mop-up exercise with an additional five thousand bottles around some densely populated areas in the zone.

One of the market leaders in the Malaysian market, Chief Okechukwu Ogu in his speech thanked Hon Chikwem Onuoha for remembering them in time of national health crisis and prayed to God bless him and fulfill his political heart desire.

According to him, “We can not thank Prince Chikwem Onuoha enough for his love, help, passion, and care for the people of Okigwe Zone, though Chikwem Onuoha has been a worthy son of Okigwe Zone who is deeply committed to the collective wellbeing of Okigwe people and we are very proud of him.”

At Isinweke Market, LoLo Loveth Chukwu described Hon Chikwem Onuoha as a man of integrity who always fights for the collective welfare of the people, pointing out that he is the only person who finds it important to give free hand sanitizers to the people at the rural areas.

“Frankly Speaking, this is not the first time he is intervening for the people of Okigwe Zone. I m one of the PDP woman leaders in Ihitte Uboma but I will support Chikwem Onuoha political aspiration any time he indicates interest in anything.”

Dr. Paul Iwunze a businessman at Orieagu market in Ehime Mbano LGA sincerely thanked Hon Chikwem Onuoha for this kind gesture and reassured him that he is in their minds any time, any day.
