The Deputy Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Prof. Placid Njoku, this Saturday splashed out hundreds of Bags of food and food items to the people of Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State.
Handing over the food items at his country home to the Local Government Interim Management Committee Chairman, Chief Tony Duru Iwuamadi, His Excellency the Deputy Governor expressed his profound delight in the service of giving which has remained the Hallmark of His Life. While pointing out that the people need to be given more and more, he noted that whilst a look at this warehouse of food items shows it actually so huge and filled to the brim with food items, however, because of the population of the people, distribution of these food items will see individuals getting amounts of food items that are not so big, therefore huge expense on palliatives do not exactly reflect on the individual members of the communities. This, according to the Deputy Governor, makes it imperative that giving must be sustained for the people to feel an enduring impact of the selfless actions on their behalf by the leaders and philanthropists.
Prof Placid Njoku told the gathering of Ikeduru leaders that this time of difficulty and dread is indeed a Clarion call by itself to every person of means to provide succor to the people especially in the local communities. Pointing out that if every man gave as much as he could, then the hunger and lack occasioned by the Corrona Pandemic will be roundly defeated.
Addressing the press as he witnessed the distribution of these palliatives to the communities, prominent Ikeduru leader and philanthropist, Prince Charles Amadi ( Shavon) said he was not surprised a bit by the donation of the large palliatives to the local communities by His Excellency the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prof Placid Njoku as he had demonstrated for decades that he has a heart of gold, is resolute in his commitment to the upliftment of the common man, and above all, a man who fears his God. Narrating the qualities of the Deputy Governor that continues to endear him to all, Prince Amadi ( Shavon) stated that it was these great qualities plus an unerring knack for dependability and trust that His Excellency, distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma sought out and brought him into the service of the people. Shavon stated that an enduring legacy of good heart, personal excellence, and loyalty to his ideals stands Prof Placid Njoku out as a man whom the people will continue to love and appreciate, a man whom the people will stand for and give every necessary support. A man who can count on his people.
Thanking His Excellency the Deputy Governor, the Interim Management Committee Chairman of Ikeduru Local Government, Chief Tony Duru expressed great joy to be called upon at a time like this, to be a conduit for the distribution of these palliatives to make the life of the people better and more fulfilled. Chief Duru pledged that these palliatives would Target and indeed, meet the needy people in the rural communities as directed by His Excellency the Deputy Governor.
