Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodinma on Entertainment Hon. Bobby Michaels has reiterated that Imo state will witness rapid development under this present administration more than the previous government.

He expressed optimism that by the end of this dispensation Gov. Uzodinma will emerge one of the greatest leaders from South East in terms of road construction and development.

According to him, After the late Governor Sam Mbakwe regime, Imo state is yet to witness true leadership, democracy, and commitment to duty and I see Distinguish Sen.Hope Uzodinma as the Governor that will break that jinx, considering the level of passion he has shown lately.

“It is on record that Governor Hope Uzodinma is the first to appoint a Special Adviser on Entertainment, the past Governors only appointed Special Assistant, Senior Special Assistant or Executive Assistant, even my contemporaries in other states have never been given such privilege, This singular gesture is a morale boost for the entertainment industry in Imo state.

My wide experience and contact in the industry as an actor and a producer will come to bare, Imolites will start feeling the presence of all the big names in the entertainment industry, like MTVBase, Sound City, etc.

We have also streamlined many programs to keep entertainers busy in Imo, currently, we are gathering the data of all entertainment stakeholders in the state for easy identification.

This will also help us to know the people will are dealing with, the entertainment industry is vast whereas Imo state has produced superstars in the industry, the best we can do is to create enabling environment for them, obviously, this administration is anchored on shared prosperity, therefore we will ensure that everyone is carried along in the scheme of things in line with the Governor’s 3R agenda.

Farmers/Herders clash: “pass anti-grazing bill”, SDP advises state government.

Published

on

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has advised State governments to pass the Anti-Grazing Bill into Law to tackle the constant farmers/herders conflicts across Nigeria.

The Party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr Alfa Mohammed, gave the advice in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday.

Also he urged the state governors to set up Ministries of Internal Security and Conflict Resolution to deal with the activities of aliens in states.

In his words, “It is high time the [governors] start taking bold steps toward securing the lives of their citizens who are being kidnapped, raped, maimed or killed on a daily basis by marauding Fulani herdsmen who are mostly foreigners.

“The governors must remind themselves that the 1999 Constitution makes security and welfare of the people the primary purpose of their governments and confers upon them Chief security officers of their various states.

“This makes them accountable for security lapses suffered by their subjects in their various states.”

Mohammed also added, “The Governors’ Forum should set up an investigative panel to investigate, among other things those who are responsible for the unrestrained influx of foreign bandits and herdsmen into Nigeria in the last 6 years.

“So that any ethnic leader who’s found to be aiding criminality among his people can be replaced and prosecuted.”

Mohammed also lauded state governments who have taken bold steps to establish their local security outfits and pass the Anti-Open Grazing Bill.

Recall that some states, for instance Oyo and Benue, have passed the Bill into law already.
