Bishop Obi raises alarm, accuses EEDC of extortion

Bishop of Divine Word International Church, Bishop Keneth Obi has raised alarm over what can best be described as extortion of money by the officers of Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC).

This is even as he accused the Akwakuma Unit of pulling down his electric pole in his House and refused to refix it after series of meetings and negotiations.

Speaking to weekend Lead, Bishop Kenneth Obi popularly known as Peoples Bishop also revealed that EEDC officials came to his church at R45 New Owerri Layout, Behind Shoprite and got his light disconnected without notice when he did not owe them a kobo.

This according to him warranted his writing a letter to them which he was yet to get a meaningful response from the organization.

Bishop Obi who is presently the chairman, Advocate of Humanity and Social Justice however made it clear that sooner than later, he would take the organization to court if they fail to sort out this problem with him.

In same vain, he called on the fielder management of the Akwakuma Unit of the EEDC who according to him pulled down his pole in his Egbeada Resident since January to refix it, adding that the people have also refused to sort out the problem with him even when he had gone to the extent of making available the materials needed to fix the electric pole.
