One of the chieftains of the APC in Imo and Orlu in particular, Dr. Barrister Ikenna Ihezuo has advised the media Handlers of the Imo State Chapter of the PDP to toe the line of constructive criticisms while criticizing the government of Uzodinma.
This is even as he cautioned them against what he termed the use of derogatory words in addressing the number one citizen of the state.
Ihezuo who disclosed this in Owerri upon his return from Abuja, Fielding questions from journalists Ihezuo while making reference to the petition by the State Government to National Judicial Council (NJC) to caution the PDP members from describing him as Supreme Court Judgment noted that such derogatory statement is not an insult to the governor alone but to the entire Imo people who he governs.
According to the legal luminary, the act of describing Uzodinma as a Supreme Court Governor is also a mockery to a whole apex court of Nigeria which has the final say in election petition involving the governors, amongst others.
Ihezuo who admitted the role and importance of opposition in a democratic setting like in Imo made it clear that the major role of the opposition is to checkmate the activities and policies of the government in power for the optimal benefits of the people and not the other way round.
He further used the forum to also advise the government media handlers not to be combative but to see the people in opposition as our brothers and sisters from the other political party.
