As the Imo North senatorial bye- election of December 5 draws nearer, the Imo APGA stakeholders led by Hon. John Iwuala, have sent out a passionate appeal to the people of Okigwe zone to put the development of their zone ahead of other considerations by ensuring the victory of Dr Charles Onyirimba who, by all measures, is the most qualified, suitable and viable candidate among others.
The stakeholders who met on Sunday, November 22, in Owerri pledged their unalloyed support to partner with the people of Okigwe zone in charting a new course for the development of their zone through the election of Dr. Onyirimba as the next senator of Okigwe zone.
Describing Dr. Charles Onyirimba’ s victory as the collective victory of all APGA members in particular and Imolites in general, the APGA state chairman, Hon. John Iwuala observed that the party was already in a celebration mood and the victory a collective responsibility, noting that the APGA candidate actually won the 2019 Okigwe senatorial election but was unfortunately robbed which he stressed would never happen again.
Hon. Iwuala called on all APGA faithful to close ranks and ensure Onyirimba’ s victory as this would help elevate the status of APGA in the state.
The Director General of Onyirimba for Senate Campaign Organization, Mr Mbazuigwe Eric reeled out some of the accomplishments of Dr Onyirimba in Okigwe zone, including over 560 scholarship awards to Okigwe zone sons and daughters taking over 150 youth abroad for greener pastures, and so on.
He stated that the victory of Onyirimba would enable Okigwe zone register among developed zones in the country, hence the need for all to support the project.
APGA Deputy Governorship candidate in the 2019 general election, Chief Steve Nwoga observed that APGA has the best candidate for Okigwe Senate.
In his remarks, the senatorial candidate , Dr. Charles Onyirimba appreciated every one for their support so far, saying that APGA remained the consciousness of Igbos and represented the greatest ideals of ndigbo. Dr. Onyirimba added that he was in the race to answer a call to serve mankind which had been part of his life for years., saying that APGA transcended party lines.
Onyirimba expressed his optimism that he would reclaim his mandate stolen in 2019, describing Imo as an APGA state as Imolites, by spirit, are of APGA.
He stated that his candidacy is the most viable, suitable and ready to assume the roles and duties of a senator.
The APGA candidate stressed his desire to lift ndi Okigwe from their current lack of governmental presence to a level of pride as a people.
