While revelations are still made by the Directors of Administration and General Services as well as the cashiers of the twenty-seven Local Governments, in Imo on how the alleged N19.63billion belonging to the Local government was embezzled, during the 7 months administration of former Governor Ihedioha, the Imo State House Committee on Public Accounts chaired by Hon. Chigozie Nwaneri has extended its invitation to other local governments and the leadership of other institutions concerned.
In a release signed by the Chairman, Nwaneri and made available to weekend Lead, those to appear before the House on Monday 11th May include, the Former Accountant, Bureau for Local Government, Osigwe Isreal, Anyanwu Oje, Imo State University Bursar, and Agatha Ononogbo, cashier Bureau for Local Government by 10 am at the office of the chairman at Ikemba Ojukwu convention center. Imo State House of Assembly Committee On Public Accounts had recently invited the leadership of the local government administration in Imo to appear before it to defend the Auditor General reports which indicated that the said amount was misappropriated.
At the interim, over fifteen local governments out of the twenty-seven local governments had appeared before the committee while others continue from Monday 11th May.
