2023: Uzodinma Wins Hearts Of Owerri West



, Nekede, Ihiagwa, Obinze Rd Set For Completion… Described As Man Of His Words By Kanayo… You Have Restored Our Hope In 3R- Indigenes

Ahead of 2023 elections, Governor Hope Uzodinma appears to have gradually winning the hearts of OWerri West people who are predominantly PDP loyalists.

This however followed the fulfillment of  the promise he made to them that before the next raining season, the Nekede Ihiagwa, Obinze and FUTO Road  which has been a night mare to indigenes as well as students of Federal Polytechnic Nekede and FUTO.

Governor Uzodinma had few months ago, re-awarded the said Nekede Road  to another construction company. After it was initially abandoned by a contractor assigned it to by the former Ihedioha’s led administration for reasons yet to be made public. Uzodinma however assured the people that the road would not only be done according to specified time but in a way that it will stand the taste of time.

During the inspection of the Road over the weekend, the people of OWerri West and Other Road Users came out en-mass to hail Uzodinma who was accompanied on the said inspection by the House Member Representing Owerri West in Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Kanayo Onyemaechi as well as the contractors handling the job poured encominiums on the Governor and assured him of their support in the 2023 elections.

The crowd who composed various songs with the Governor’s name made it clear that he has restored their hope and confidence in the 3R Government which they vowed to support hence forth.

In same vain, the House of  Assembly Member Representing Owerri West in Imo House of Assembly, Hon. Kanayo Onyemaechi assured the Governor of the continued support of the OWerri West people  pointing out that with the reconstruction of the said Road which he described as one of the major Roads in the area having linked the two Federal Institutions of Federal Polytechnic Nekede and the Federal University of Technology Owerri, that both the indigenes and non indigenes would give him unalloyed  support in the next election.

Describing Uzodinma as a man of his words, Onyemaechi popularly known as Egbe Eji Eje Ogu revealed that with the completion of the job, Governor Uzodinma has also restored  the confidence of the Owerri west in him having assured  the people that Uzodinma led Government would put the road through.

Rejection of 30 new Ezes: Monarch hails Uzodinma, Ihedioha, advises Government against new communities



One of the prominent Traditional Rulers in Imo state who for security reasons declined mention of his name has commended the boldness of the present administration led by Governor Hope Uzodinma to return to Imo all the state Government’s properties as well as individuals illegally acquired by the former Governor of the state and senator representing Imo west in the National Assembly, Senator Rochas Okorocha.

This is even as he hailed the Ihedioha led administration and that of Uzodinma for standing firm against recognition of the 30 new communities which Okorocha led administration purportedly issued certificate of recognition on the eve of may 29 2019.

Okorocha led administration had few hours to his exit as the Governor of Imo state when he ordered the then Secretary to the state Government, Mark Uchendu to issue certificate of recognition to 30 new Ezes elect.

The said event which took place in one of the Hotels in new Owerri was rejected by Imo people as well as some of the said new Ezes following huge sums of money allegedly collected from them at the said Hotel at the said Night.

In a bid to sanitize the traditional institution in Imo given its bastardization by Okorocha led administration which include the illegal removal of the then chairman of the Imo state council of Traditional Rulers, HRM, Eze Dr. Cletus Ilomuanya despite series of court orders and judgments which called for his reinstatement, Ihedioha led administration rejected the said new Ezes and their communities while describing their recognition as illegal.

In same manner, Uzodinma’s administration continued from where Ihedioha stopped by marking the said Ezes and their Communities rejected.

Describing the bastardization of the Imo Traditional Institution as one of the sins of Okorocha as well as subjection of Imo Traditional Rulers to House Boys wherein, they were going to Owerri every month to collect cheques for their salaries, the said Traditional Ruler urged the present administration to do everything within the confines of the law to sanitize and restore the eroding glory of the Traditional Institution in Imo. He however advised the present administration to borrow a leaf from the Anambra Government which despite their population still maintains minimal number of Autonomous Communities and Traditional Rulers.

He used the forum to call on the state Government to review the monthly remuneration of the Traditional Rulers in the state adding that if it is not enough it should be increased given what is obtainable in the country today, this according to him would enhance the status of the Ezes thereby reducing the crimes associated with Traditional Rulers.

However, in the bid to still dupe innocent citizens, some of the appointees in the then government as well as in the new government are going around asking the new Ezes for money with a promise that the present administration will recognize them.

It is important to note that in some of the concerned communities, they have two or three villages asking for autonomous status.

Buhari Warns Bandits, Says “You Are Not Powerful Than My Govt”



President Muhammadu Buhari has warned the bandits wreaking havoc across the country, saying his government has the capacity to deal with them.

In a statement Mallam Garba Shehu, his spokesman, issued on his behalf, the president vowed not to succumb to blackmail.

The president described the abduction of hundreds of students of Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe in Zamfara State, as inhumane and totally unacceptable.

“This administration will not succumb to blackmail by bandits who target innocent school students in the expectations of huge ransom payments.”

“Let them not entertain any illusions that they are more powerful than the government. They shouldn’t mistake our restraint for the humanitarian goals of protecting innocent lives as a weakness or a sign of fear or irresolution.”

The President appealed to state governments to review their policy of rewarding bandits with money and vehicles, warning that the policy “might boomerang disastrously.”

He also advised states and local governments to be more proactive by improving security around schools and their surroundings

Governor Wike expressed the need to have a lasting reward framework for officers and men of the Armed Forces to encourage them in their sacrifices to the nation.
